Brittany’s Favourite Things

Surf’s Up is a funny movie the whole family.

It’s about a rock hopper named Cody Maverick, who had dreams of surfing as well as his hero. He goes to a island for a surf off. When he is at the island he makes new friends with a chicken and a lifeguard while he is on the island. But when he is there he get’s lost in a forest and bumps into a penguin named Zeek. He learns how to surf and finds his hero.

This is a great movie and I hope you like it too!

My Dad

Dad is my hero because he cares about the neighbourhood, animals in my house and people. I got two stories about lives in the neighbourhood.

Story #1

On a beautiful Saturday morning I was in my house making Easter table decorations. Ever half hour the bus comes around, but it comes around so fast we thought something or someone will get hit. Any way the bus came around and the neighbour’s dog always comes to visit us when we come home. The bus comes around, I hear a whack, then a yelp, and then barking a small dog. I said oh no. My Dad came running out to see if it’s OK. Let’s thank the world that the dog is not dead.

Story #2

A day after I got Stella ( My New Hamster) She got her head stuck and almost died. When My Dad came home from his motorbike ride I was almost crying. Stella got her head stuck in a tube that leads to her wheel. I just touched her to see if she was OK and she was whimpering (crying). My Dad came in quickly, took the wheel out of it’s spot and saved her life. Each of her pouches had three big peices of food.

He cares about everything and everyone. That is why he is my hero. 

“Dad may I please get a hamster on Sunday”

Ever since grade 3 I wanted to get a new hamster. Finally on April 21, 2009, I got a cute little hamster and here is my story.

For the past week there was an chinchilla looking for a new home. When I heard that I kept on asking my parents. I went into my room and I realized my room was not big enough for two 3 feet cages because they are bigger than a guinea pig.

Here is in order, how big the domestic rodents are, from small to big.

1. Hamster
2. Guinea Pig
3. Chinchilla
4. Rabbit
5. Ferret

When my parents came home April 21th I asked my parents if I can get a hamster.  That night my parents went for a drive and came home with a box from Petland. I almost screamed. It was a hamster. If it was a boy I will call him Russel. but it’s a girl and her name is Stella and she is active, cute and funny.

I was walking through the forest. It was so beautiful. Then it hit me, why not write a poem about it all. So here it is.

I was walking through the forest.

I can see the delicate branches swaying the through the wind and the different shapes of the logs I am walking past.

I can hear the branches moving and the asirplanes flying from the distance. I can also hear the animals chirping.

I can smell the scent of the pine trees in the forest air, that some animals might be hiding in.

I can feel the cold brisk wind blow through the wind as sticks poke me in the back.

As the wind is blowing I can taste the fresh clear air, not a horrible taste in the air at all.

Everyone has things that make them happy. Here are my six things that make me happy.

1. Mint Chocolate Ice Capp Supreme from Tim Hortons, On a hot Summer day this is the best drink to have. This drink is awesome.
2. My favourite online game, Warriors: The New Prophecy, I won this game once.
3. Cats, their really cute and fuzzy. Sometimes I think their warrior cats.
4. All my friends( Catie, Rebecca, Brianne, Chaeyoon and Chelsea). Their great to talk to and just hang out.
5. Baking, every sunday I wake up early and start making breakfast. Or I like to make cakes, pies and cupcakes.
6. And last and not least just having fun, and relaxing, watching a movie or reading.

Taryn Tomlinson was raised in Campbell River. When she went to school her arrival school was Valley View. Her favourite subjects were science and math. She couldn’t decide what to do when she grew up. But she finally decided what to do. That’s how she began robotics engineering.

Dextre was built like Lego. On Dextre there is a flag from Japan. All this time Dextre has been in Space it’s been only testing. Can you believe it; it has been testing for one year. It hasn’t even been in real work only testing WOW.

The Canadarm2 has been catching little Space Pod like things called Free Flyers. If a Free Flyer floats by the Canadarm2 has 90 seconds to catch the Free Flyer, that’s a minute and a half. That’s not long so it has to catch it quickly. If it misses it has to wait until the Free Flyer floats by again.

This webcast was very interesting. I can’t wait until the next webcast.

As you know friendship week just ended. I have lots of friends in division 16. So here are all my friends. I’m going to tell you a little thing about each of them.

Brianne

Brianne loves to cook. Cooking is one of her favourite things. Here are some of the recipes she on her blog.

• Onion Rings: You’ve tried them at A&W but you’ve never tried them like this.
• The Extra Cheesy After School Grilled Cheese: You’ve tried it with one cheese slice but have you tried with three cheese slices.
• Fruity Smoothie: You’ve tried it at Starbucks and Serious Coffee but this smoothie is delicious.
• Hashbrowns: You’ve tried them at restaurants but they’re awesome.

That’s all the recipes on her blog and are all really good.

Chaeyoon

Chaeyoon comes from Korea and her favourite comic book is Maple Story. She is also a awesome artist. Check out this drawing she drew. That’s all I can say. But she also likes drama. We’re doing the talent show together.

Catie

Catie is a Guitar Hero Master. She’s also a good drawer like Chaeyoon. She is awesome at Soccer too.

I got a lot of other friends that go to different schools. They are really nice too.

In this post I am going to tell different things about the Talent Show.

The Talent Show is where kids in the show come and show the school what they have been practicing for two weeks or so. When the time comes everyone comes on. You can do anything from doing a skit with a best friend to singing by yourself (I did that last year, it was spooky). Kids from grades 2 to 7 can be in it. I’m doing the Talent Show again but this time I’m doing it with Chaeyoon. Were doing a skit.

The Talent Show every year on a different day. This year it’s on Friday February 20th Canadian time. Usually it’s at 12:45. It’s on for I think 45 minutes.

I am going to tell you  what mee and Chaeyoon are going to do for the Talent Show. Well me and Chaeyoon made a skit called It’s A Crazy Show. I’m a wicked witch and Chaeyoon is the mayer. She comes to the candy store and asks for a candy. I give her a purple gorilla candy. When the mayer eats it she turns into King Kong.

Me and Chaeyoon hopes it’s a funny show.

I just can’t what for the Talent Show.
