Archive for the “animals” Category

Everybody changes their ideas on what they want to do for their career. Trust me I know, but any way here is what I want do when I grow up.

My first idea was helping out at the Courtenay & District Museum by setting up exhibits or help out around the gift shop. My favourite part of the museum is the Elasmosaur. I did the Elasmosaur for my heritage fair project you may have heard about. Any way the people who worked there offered if can help out around sometimes.

My second idea was working at Petland by showing people where everything is or talking to them about the animal they want to chose. You see my parents went to Petland to get me my second hamster Stella. Also Petland is my favourite pet store. I likew all the little animals in there. Last Summer I went in Petland. I past a parrot and it said hello. It took me a couple minutes just to figure out who said it.

Enough about me what job do you want to do when your older???

“Dad may I please get a hamster on Sunday”

Ever since grade 3 I wanted to get a new hamster. Finally on April 21, 2009, I got a cute little hamster and here is my story.

For the past week there was an chinchilla looking for a new home. When I heard that I kept on asking my parents. I went into my room and I realized my room was not big enough for two 3 feet cages because they are bigger than a guinea pig.

Here is in order, how big the domestic rodents are, from small to big.

  1. Hamster
  2. Guinea Pig
  3. Chinchilla
  4. Rabbit
  5. Ferret

When my parents came home April 21th I asked my parents if I can get a hamster.  That night my parents went for a drive and came home with a box from Petland. I almost screamed. It was a hamster. If it was a boy I will call him Russel. but it’s a girl and her name is Stella and she is active, cute and funny.

Tell me about your pets or if you don’t have a pet which one would you like? Tell me in a comment!!

You can also see what Stella looks like because I have a virtual pet hamster.

When I was in grade three my Dad’s friend taught me how to ride a horse and I went horse back riding. There were two horses one named Chevy, the other named Spike. Chevy was a Chestnut, Spike’s a Dartmoor Pony. I know it’s been a few years but I still know some horse riding techniques. If you want to know how you ride a horse.

  • To ride forwards you squeeze your legs against the horse’s sides it would walk,
  • you  can also your legs atleast three times and it will trot.
  • Hit it’s sides a few more times and your horse will gallop. If you want it to stop you have to say wooo and you pull on the reins
  • You can also make it walk backwards just pull on the reins.

On my first ride there were a couple  bike riders rode right in front of the horse and it bucked me off and I twisted my ankle.
